A few months ago, I allowed myself to be kidnapped by a few friends hellbent on having too much fun. They hired a kick@$$ ride from Joburg, drove to Durban and partied up a storm all weekend. The ride was superb, DVD players, rocking sound, sober drivers with GPS navigation…eish…we were rolling in Durban ekse! Nothing like taking a trip in some reliable transport with a sober driver focused on the road, where you can just kick back and enjoy the ride.

Small in stature, BIG in voice, talent and p[resence! Jody Williams Idols SA 2007!
 

In what has been a stellar weekend for Bruinkind (like "mankind", only bruin...), we have Tansey Coetzee winning the coveted Miss South Africa 2007 title and in addition, we have Jody Williams winning the title of Idols 2007!!

Jody Williams, the petite schoolgirl from Milnerton beat out her fellow Capetonian, 21-year-old Andriette Norman, in an emotional two-hour show in front of a capacity audience at the Ellis Park Arena. This girl has got South Africa in the palm of her hands and we expect some big things from her. Let's hope she does'nt pull a Karen Kortje on us and disappear into the woodwork.

Tansey Coetzee, a 23 year old STUNNER from Johannesburg (originally from Eldorado Park) was recently crowned Miss South Africa 2007! We asked Shaun "Soulo" Parsons, member of the sensational R&B supergroup, SoulStone what went into the making of their latest music video "Now that your love has gone" and we discovered there's so much more to it than meets the eye. This track is destined to be a classic. Check the music video and then read all about it...

While playing the piano one Winter evening I came up with the melody. I couldn't help but start writing to it influenced largely by a previous relationship. I then completed the rest of the instrumentation. At 3am, I officially entitled her "Now That Your Love Has Gone".

Stand-up comedian Stuart Taylor returns home after a nation wide tour of his award winning solo offering ‘TECHNI-COLOURED’. The show hits the Artscape Arena Theatre from Wednesday 12 December 2007.  “Techni-Coloured” is a blend of stand-up comedy, sketch comedy and Taylor’s signature magic.  Stuart acts as our tour guide through his personal identity crisis and paranoia whilst destroying with ease the myths of preconceived stereotypes.  

Techni-Coloured sees Stuart tackle everything from a technical manual on the ups and downs of marriage to facing his fears on his well documented travels, all with his deliciously un-PC yet laid back style.
