 LOVE!!! REAL OR NOT REAL

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

What do u guys and girls think about LOVE! do u think there really is such a thing or has it all gone to hell with our Grandmemmies and Grandpeppies.....cause as far as i know that was real love back then......when ur gran was away on holiday ur grandad couldn't eat or sleep?? is it still like that for some??

Wow, now thats deep ... I really hope that it's not gone to hell as you say. Becoming one tree takes time but in our haste for things to happen we overlook the one thing that forms that tree, togetherness! I believe love is real and only hope that my wife and I can have what our grandparents and parents have!!!

I have to agree with nish on this one, i believe that love is real and it is still out there. the only reason why it doesnt seem to be out there is because people do not take the time to appreciate what they have in their partners even more so maybe, you do get people who do but its about the little things. So in order for the big thing (Love, relationship, togetherness, becoming one) is concerned all we have to do is focus and sort out the little things and surely then we will see what our grans and gramps had way back in the day. I have seen first hand that love still exists and when we all one day maybe get to that point we will all see it. smilies/smiley.gif

I believe you blog is from the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin: ""Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. yes...there is love left......i for one haven't felt or experianced real love yet..touch wood.
maybe one day.....but yes there is, though "love" is only the word used to translate or help emancipate certain feelings...boo.
happiness is the catalyst for the word love, freedom and joy, honor and trust, eg. i love sobby movies cos they make me cry and this actually helps me realize that i do have love, inside me and so do you and makes me feel alive again
