Winston Churchill once said “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”.

This is so true when I look at Hillview Senior Secondary as well as the greater Newlands East Community. Let us assist you to be the best you can be!

Hi

I have read the whole article RE: Rejuvenation of Hillview.
I must say that i am really impressed by that fact that you have brought this to our attention. I was also a student there and i'm ashamed to say that i havent been back for a visit in a long while.
I was shocked and distressed to see what the condition of the school has escalated to!
I think that the state of our "coloured' schools just feed the perception that coloureds do not look after what they have.
I think that we should all make an effort to help in some way! smilies/sad.gif

Stekkie, we would be more than happy to bring it to everybody's attention but we need somebody to champion it in the manner that Alwyn has. All we are doing is creating the platform and awareness for him to develop a team. And yes, you are ight, NESS was a great school that had great teachers and produced some top achievers...

Hello Guys and Gals,

Yes, this can be done at NESS as well. There have been many projects undertaken like this before which have not completely successful because it is an immense task which has been rolled to too many schools all at once.

We would like to start with Hillview and first roll it out in phases within Hillview. Once we have the blueprint for this project then we will move onto other schools in the area and then outside of Newlands East

Regards
Alwyn

Good day
I have read the report and am saddend by it. I would like to comment that N.E.S.S. was the first school built in the communinity and has much more achivement than post. If you are looking to do something for the community and be affective then i must say "we" need to start with N.E.S.S then grow from there or we will create a division in the communnity before re-unity the people of Newlands.

I am out
