Andre abd Cherise at the Eiffel Tower

The benefit of using the Eurostar is that you arrive in the heart of the city, so from the minute you land you get to feel the energy of the city. One thing that blew me away was the language. Oh my word! The thing about Amsterdam when we were there is that one could understand Dutch because it's very similar to Afrikaans but with French, Haaibo fana! These people do not verstaan what you say when you speak English.
Moving along swiftly, we took a cab to our hotel and man oh man, the views were spectacular. Seeing the Eiffel Tower in all its glory (“One Night In Paris” ring a bell?) was on some other you-know-what! You just want to take a picture of everything you see, giving ‘snap happy’ a new meaning.

Now to make this as painless as possible, I will try to shorten what I want to say, although I thought this would be a young reading to my people but it's turning out rather loooooooong so apologies for that.

Louvre Pyramid

The sights that we saw during our time there are as follows: The Louvre Museum, which is the largest museum in the world, was amazing. It houses many famous paintings, namely the Mona Lisa which is probably the most well-known painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, in fact, the most well-known painting ever! From the pictures you will see how grand the interior is and how huge the paintings are. They say if you spent time looking at each piece of work in the Louvre, it would take you two years. As you can imagine, we didn't have that much time to kill.

From there we went to the Notre Dame Cathedral using the hop-on hop-off buses, which is a quick way to see all the main attractions in any city.
Wow, is all I can say. It is one of the oldest or the oldest Gothic cathedrals around in the world today. You know that story about the Hunch Back of Notre Dame? Well, this cathedral plays a huge part in that story – some trivial (read useless) info.

We then jumped on a bus and went on to the Champs Elysees, which is the shee
shee poo poo part of Paris and houses every conceivable upmarket store that you could fathom; shopping paradise for women – and I have to say men too. Cleopatra's needle is at the start of the street and at the other end is the Arc de Triomphe. Once again I have to say, it was a beautiful sight to behold. And where else do you get to see a McClaren F1 car with the engine nicely displayed in a Hugo Boss store the size of Edgars? These guys don't play. They ball! There was also a Renault store that showed the whole enchilada of what it would look like if you were waiting for Alonso to come into the pit for more fuel. Clubs, restaurants, a Louis Vuitton bag the size of three London buses in length and two buses high – it's all there to be seen.
