037-840-NPO

FOUNDED IN  2000 BY JEAN OLIVER

ADDRESS: 15 EKSTEEN ROAD, MEREWENT, DURBAN, 4052

Structural Synopis of Sizane

Jean Oliver is a peoples’ person who has always had a desire to work in the community.
She has co-founded the Interfellowship Church and Christian School which has been in existence since 1984.
She then founded Sizane Care Centre in 2000 which focuses on Nutritional Intervention and cares for people infected with the HIV Virus.
She is a pillar of strength to the people who work with her as well as her community.

Sizane Care Centre has been funded solely by Interfellowship Church, Wentworth, Durban.
Jean Oliver is the founder of the centre, which, incorporates, the HIV-AIDS Counseling sessions.
These sessions take place every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday morning, as well as  home based care which is done a 24 hour basis,
Nutritional invention in the form of e-pap, and fresh fruit and vegetables.
We currently feed three primary schools and members of the surrounding community.
This has been limited as a result of a lack of financial resources.
We are currently using a office block at Interfellowship Church which is provided free of charge.
We have voluntary counselors  who take care of the members of the care centre on a daily basis.

With the funding we are requesting we would like to expand Sizane care centre in the following areas:
Buy premises which will be a fortress for more people whose families have disowned them as a result of HIV-AIDS.
Premises would cost in the region of R600 000 to R800-00.
Provide more nutritional intervention as the e-pap which is very costly is very much needed.
Each bag cost R40 and is only able to sustain one patient for 2 weeks.
To provide daily counseling sessions. Current volunteers need to go on counseling courses which cost in the region of R500 per person
To buy a kombi to transport those who are unable to walk and need to go to hospitals for anti-retroviral drugs.
A 14 seated kombi would cost in the region of R200 000.
We believe that with funds we so desperately need we can change the face of the disease in our community and provide people with the necessities needed.
Every contribution will become an indelible part of the project and will carry the name of the donor on a commerative plate.
